Planning an Anime Tattoo? Here's What to Send Me Before You Book

You've picked the character. Maybe it's Gojo, maybe it's a Pokémon you grew up with, maybe it's a scene from a Saturday-morning cartoon nobody else remembers. Now what?

I read every request myself, every Monday. The ones that turn into great tattoos fastest all have the same five things. Send me these and we can skip the back-and-forth and get straight to drawing.

1. The character, and the moment

"Goku" is a start. "Goku mid-Kamehameha in the Cell Games" is a tattoo. Tell me which version of the character you love, which arc, which outfit, which expression. The more specific you are, the more the finished piece will feel like your tattoo and not just a screenshot.

2. Two or three reference images

Screenshots, fan art you like, panels from the manga: all good. I'll pull them together and redraw everything from scratch, so don't worry about finding the perfect one. A few that show the pose, the colors and the vibe you want are plenty.

3. Placement and rough size

Forearm, calf, thigh, half sleeve? A rough size in inches helps too. Placement changes everything about the design, from how much detail fits to which way the character should face.

4. Color or black and grey

I do both. Bold, saturated color makes anime pop the way it does on screen. Black and grey gives a moodier, more illustrative look. If you're not sure, say so and I'll suggest what suits the piece.

5. Your budget and timeline

Pricing for full-day sessions and smaller pieces is on my How it works page. Knowing your budget up front lets me design something that fits it, instead of something you'd have to scale back later.

Ready?

Hit the Booking button on my site and fill in the form. New requests are reviewed every Monday, and I tattoo Wednesday through Saturday at The Raven & Rhino on Monroe St in Toledo. Want to know exactly what happens after you submit? The How it works page walks through every step.

Can't wait to see what you're dreaming up.
